DAV Gurukulam is a Vedic learning center that exemplifies simple living and promotes yoga within a dense, natural landscape. The architecture is deeply integrated with the environment, using natural materials and earth construction techniques, such as exposed brickwork, which seamlessly blend with the surroundings. The campus planning incorporates courtyards that address the local climate by facilitating natural ventilation and light, making the structures energy-efficient and environmentally harmonious.
The centerpiece of the Gurukulam is the central plaza, a vibrant gathering space designed to foster community interaction and host events. This interconnected campus ensures that buildings and spaces are strategically linked to facilitate easy movement and promote a sense of unity among students, teachers, and visitors.
The Gurukulam also offers serviced apartments for seniors, creating an inclusive environment that caters to the needs of elderly residents. These apartments are equipped with modern amenities to provide comfort and convenience while maintaining the traditional ethos of the center.
In promoting indigenous sports like Malyuth (wrestling), the Gurukulam preserves and celebrates cultural heritage while encouraging physical fitness. Dedicated areas and facilities support sports training and practice, enriching the holistic educational experience. Additionally, the campus features tranquil spaces for yoga and meditation, designed to promote mental and physical well-being in serene environments that foster concentration and relaxation.
The architectural design of DAV Gurukulam integrates seamlessly with its functions, using local, sustainable materials to ensure ecological harmony. The use of courtyards and open spaces enhances natural ventilation and cooling, minimizing the need for artificial heating and cooling systems. This sustainable approach not only respects local traditions but also ensures the durability and aesthetic appeal of the structures.
DAV Gurukulam stands as a model for sustainable living, combining modern amenities with traditional practices to provide a holistic, spiritually enriching learning and living experience.
